Headlining the free concert at Bayfront Park Amphitheater are rock legends The Fixx. Starting their career in the eighties as one of the most innovative bands to come out of the MTV era, this year marks the band’s 25th anniversary - boasting a record of three #1 hits, five Top-5 hits, a dozen Top-10 hits, millions of albums sold worldwide, and countless sold-out tours. All original members will be performing their memorable, blockbuster hits such as One Thing Leads to Another, Red Skies, Saved by Zero, Stand or Fall, Deeper and Deeper, and many others. The release of a new DVD and the imminent release of new songs proves that the Fixx is still a force to be reckoned with two decades later.

Also on the bill - Conjunto Progreso. Since their inception in 1999, the traditional Cuban Son ensemble has taken audiences back in time to the nostalgic era of early Cuban popular music. Co-founded by Johnny Aguilo and Jose Elias, the group, known as “the Buena Vista Social Club of America,” started out as a humble quartet and has since grown into a 9-member orchestra. Through the years, Conjunto Progreso has featured an array of legendary musicians and in 2004 they released their debut album, entitled “Masters of Cuban Son,” through Universal Latino records. The album went on to earn them a Grammy Award nomination for Traditional/Tropical Latin Album in 2006.

Local Miami favorite Betty Padgett & Elements of Funk will kick-off the show. Belting out popular songs such as Respect and Proud Mary, you can see why they are one of the best R&B party bands around.
